THE HOME TEAM.

Hi there! We are the Lipes to Guatemala: a Christian missionary family serving the people of Guatemala through the arts. We use theatre as a bridge to show the love of Jesus to others and meet the needs of the community around us.

 

We met in college, doing a theatre production of Beauty & The Beast. We had no idea who the other person was when we showed up to that audition! After being cast as Belle and The Beast, we spent months getting to know each other and, truly, to become best friends. A few months after the show closed, that friendship developed into something more!

 

After getting married in 2019, we knew God was calling us into ministry. We moved to Guatemala in January of 2021, and began our theatre program in May of the same year. We welcomed our daughter, Bobbi, into the world in June of 2022, at Hospital Herrera Llerandi in Guatemala City. We are also in the process of bringing our son, S, home from Liberia West Africa! We are praying he is with us by the summer of 2024.

We enjoy going to live theatre performances, playing music, checking out local coffee shops, and spending time with friends. In Guatemala, one of our favorite activities during downtime is going to the movies :-)

We are passionate about our work and believe that by serving others through the arts, we can make a difference in the world - no matter how big or small. We are dedicated to providing arts opportunities that inspire and challenge students to become leaders for their peers. We want to raise up Jesus-loving leaders who can go out into the world and use the arts to share the love of God with others.

 We are committed to making a positive, Kingdom-focused impact in Guatemala and changing lives one performance at a time.
